I am an architecture student at UCLouvain LOCI, on the Brussels Saint-Gilles campus. I completed my bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2026 and am currently spending a gap year exploring work in an architecture practice.

The way I approach a project rarely starts from form. I look first at uses: who already lives in or passes through a place, how they settle into it, but also how users make it their own and develop their own ways of inhabiting the space. I also try to understand what the site still holds of the practices that came before it. A space carries the memory of those who occupied it, of the uses that grew there and of the appropriations that gradually shaped its character.

This close reading of the context, the uses and the ways people inhabit a place is where I look for the starting point of a project. In this way I try to develop an architecture attentive to its context, its users and the different timescales of a place, while staying open to the constraints and opportunities particular to each project.

what i’m looking for

I now want to immerse myself in an architecture practice and get to know a way of working I could fully contribute to.

I am looking for a six-month internship, from now until August 2027, in a practice whose projects and way of designing speak to my own interests. I would like to commit myself to the work of a team, to take part in the different stages of a project and to test my way of thinking about architecture against the realities of practice.

I am also open to shorter placements, which would be a valuable chance to discover a new practice, to broaden my experience and to make a real contribution to its projects.

experience

Renovation and construction work, ongoing. Taking part in the site supervision of a private house alongside my studies: preparation, work on site, following progress. A first-hand encounter between design and building reality: reading drawings, technical constraints, coordination with the trades.

Observation internship, MAMOUT, Brussels, 2025. Immersion in the daily life of a practice: team meetings, conversations with the architects, how the work is organised. Following ongoing projects at different stages — sketch design, planning permission, construction — and discovering building standards and planning rules.

Observation internship, 19 degrés, Rennes, 2021. Observing the design work and the day-to-day running of an architecture office, monitoring the works and following the progress of a project.

studio projects

House of Poetry, international architecture competition, Marradi, Italy, 2026 — ongoing. Currently developing an entry for the competition organised by Young Architects Competitions (YAC) and the Municipality of Marradi. The project explores the transformation of poet Dino Campana’s house into a museum and a cultural space dedicated to poetry, creativity and learning.

Dwelling, Producing, Sharing, hybrid project, 2026. Design of a hybrid fragment of city where housing and productive uses sit side by side: 25 dwellings and 10 production units. A forward-looking study of urban industrialisation, exploring how production can be brought back into the urban fabric.

Collective housing, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Brussels, 2025. Housing for around fifteen people that brings together food production and collective participation. A study of ways of dwelling, living and producing together in one place.

Conversion of a warehouse into a cultural centre, Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, 2024. Transformation of an existing warehouse into a cultural centre for the municipality. The project involved modelling the existing building, developing an intervention strategy connecting old and new, and producing plans, sections and perspectives.

skills

I am developing an approach to design based on the analysis of context, of uses and of the different scales of the territory.

I work on architectural design and representation through 3D modelling, drawing, axonometrics and collage. I also use parametric design as a tool for exploration, to test variants and to support the development of a project.

These approaches are complemented by structural and environmental analysis, so that the constraints and the qualities of the site feed into the design process.
